Buying & Delivery FAQs

Know what happens next.

A clear arrangement makes a purchase easier to manage. These answers explain how we work, what to establish before committing and where to turn when an order needs attention.

For a particular transaction, your quotation and order confirmation record the equipment, payment and delivery arrangements agreed with you. Keep them close to hand when discussing a change.

Buying and accounts

Who can buy from BMG Solar?

We work with business customers, including installers, distributors, wholesalers, EPC contractors, developers and commercial buyers. The requirement may be stock for regular sales, equipment for a specific project or a product that has proved difficult to source.

Do I need an account to speak to you or request help?

You can contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp without an account. Access to most online trade prices and formal quotation tools requires an approved business account. Registration starts that process; signing in alone does not confirm approval.

You can contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp without an account. While our online shop is being prepared, contact BMG with your company details and purchasing requirements. Account creation does not automatically approve a trade account or grant trade pricing.

For help with an existing order, contact the colleague handling it or use Help & Support.

What is your minimum order quantity?

Solar modules usually start at one container. Inverters, storage and other equipment have product-dependent quantities, including pallet and project orders. We confirm the practical quantity against your enquiry.

Our sourcing and logistics work can extend to programmes involving hundreds of containers and equipment for multi-megawatt developments. Tell us the product and quantity you need; we will establish a suitable basis for the purchase.

Can you source products beyond the website catalogue?

Yes. Our procurement work extends across solar, storage, EV charging, heating and cooling, electrical equipment, electronics, machinery and specialist products. We also consider custom and OEM requirements.

Send the manufacturer or specification, quantity, destination and target date. Explain where you can accept alternatives and which requirements are fixed. A catalogue entry is not a condition of making an enquiry.

Is everything shown on the website available immediately?

Availability depends on the product, quantity and supply location. Some requirements can be met from available stock; others need a confirmed allocation, transfer or production order. We establish the supply position and release conditions as part of the quotation. A product listing does not reserve equipment.

Can you help check whether the equipment is suitable?

We can obtain specifications, coordinate manufacturer input and help your team assess a proposed equipment package. Tell us about the intended application and connected products early. Your project professionals retain responsibility for design and technical approval, with specialist support arranged where needed.

Can I offer you stock to buy or sell?

Yes. Send the exact products, quantities, condition, location and availability, together with your proposed terms. Photographs and supporting documents help us assess the opportunity. You do not need a buyer account to introduce available stock.

Payment and VAT

How does payment work on a first order?

We agree the deposit and balance arrangements before you commit. The balance is paid before collection or before delivery at the payment checkpoint specified for the order. Any arrangement linked to delivery depends on the order value and our agreement in advance.

“Cash & carry” means an agreed purchase paid for before goods are released for collection. It does not mean turning up to pay at the warehouse, or paying a delivery driver on arrival. Your confirmation sets out the amounts, dates and release conditions.

Is collection a sensible option for a first purchase?

It can be. Collection gives your team a defined handover with the releasing warehouse and lets you use your own transport arrangement. The location, appointment, goods release and loading responsibilities still need to be agreed.

BMG-organised delivery may suit you better when you want us to coordinate the movement through to the agreed destination. We can discuss both routes before you decide.

Can I buy on credit or arrange finance?

Discuss the requirement with us before placing the order. We can explore negotiated payment terms, trade credit for established customers with an agreed facility, and equipment finance or project funding through specialist partners. The available arrangement depends on the customer, transaction and any relevant provider assessment. Any credit facility must be separately approved and agreed; opening a business account does not create one.

Will VAT be charged on my order?

We assess VAT against the actual transaction, including the supply location, destination and customer details. For a qualifying intra-EU business supply, a valid EU VAT number, movement of goods to another member state and the required evidence and reporting are needed for the seller to invoice without VAT. A foreign billing address alone is insufficient. The buyer generally accounts for acquisition VAT locally.

Exports outside the EU follow different rules, and import VAT or duties may arise at destination. Stock location and transactions involving several suppliers can affect the treatment. Provide your VAT details and delivery arrangements when requesting a quotation so the invoice can be prepared correctly.

Delivery and collection

Can BMG organise transport?

Yes. We coordinate road, sea and rail freight around the equipment, route, timing and receiving requirements. That can include delivery to a warehouse, your customer or a project site, with staged releases where the programme calls for them.

The quotation identifies the transport scope, agreed destination and responsibilities. Tell us about access, unloading equipment, booking requirements and receiving hours before the movement is arranged.

How long will delivery take?

We give you a route-specific estimate once the supply position and transport plan are established. Ask both when the goods can leave and how long the journey is expected to take. Production, stock release, consolidation, customs and the final delivery booking can each affect the arrival date.

The estimate will identify its starting point and the stages included. Tell us about a fixed site deadline early, so we can assess the route against the work waiting for the equipment.

Can I arrange collection with my own carrier?

Yes, where collection is agreed for the supply location. We confirm the release conditions, appointment process and documents needed. Loading, carrier instructions, transport insurance and the transfer of risk must be clear before the vehicle arrives.

A carrier we recommend is not automatically a shipment we have booked. If you contract the carrier yourself, confirm your transport and insurance arrangements with it.

Is a shipment arranged by BMG insured?

For movements arranged by BMG, we arrange cargo insurance for the goods' full invoice value. We confirm the insured journey, covered legs and policy terms for your order. The agreed Incoterm and named place establish the relevant delivery responsibilities and transfer of risk; insurance is considered alongside them.

If you arrange transport yourself, you need to arrange appropriate cover unless we have expressly agreed otherwise. A carrier recommendation alone does not include BMG cargo insurance.

Can I change the delivery address or date?

Contact your BMG order contact as soon as you know a change is needed. What can be adjusted depends on whether the goods have been released, the transport booking and the route already under way. We will establish the available options and any effect on cost or timing before agreeing the change.

How do I get an order or delivery update?

Contact the colleague handling your order with the order reference, destination and planned date. They can check the relevant stock release, warehouse or carrier information. If you do not know whom to contact, use Help & Support and we will direct the enquiry.

Receiving goods and resolving a problem

What should I check when the goods arrive?

Check the accessible goods and packaging against the delivery documents, including quantities, product labels and visible condition. Record any visible damage or discrepancy on the delivery document, take photographs and contact BMG promptly. Follow the carrier notification procedure agreed for the shipment too.

Retain the delivery documents, packaging and labels needed to identify the goods and investigate the issue.

What if damage only becomes visible after unpacking?

Contact BMG promptly when you discover it. Explain when and how it became apparent, and send photographs of the damage, packaging and product labels with your order reference. Keep the relevant materials while we establish the next step.

If reporting has been delayed, still get in touch. Delay can make evidence and recovery more difficult; the appropriate response depends on the facts, agreed terms and applicable obligations.

What if I receive the wrong product or something is missing?

Contact BMG with your order reference, delivery note, affected quantities and photographs of the goods and labels. Avoid installing or using disputed items. We will establish what was ordered and delivered, then agree the appropriate next step.

Keep the packaging where possible. If collection or exchange is needed, we will agree the preparation, secure repacking, access and collection arrangements with you. Speak to us before booking a return.

Where do I start with a technical fault or manufacturer warranty claim?

Use Product Support to find the manufacturer's official procedure. Prepare the model, serial number, proof of purchase and fault details, and retain the case reference. Involve the qualified professional responsible for the system where diagnosis or electrical work is needed.

For equipment supplied by BMG, email help@bmg.solar when the manufacturer's procedure requires a claim through the seller, the manufacturer cannot be reached or has not responded within its stated service window. Include your order reference, fault details and any case number or correspondence already available. The Product Support page explains when and how to involve us.

Does BMG provide its own product warranty?

BMG does not issue or underwrite a separate product warranty. The manufacturer's applicable terms govern claims under its warranty. Our responsibilities as your seller remain separate, and you can contact us directly about concerns with goods we supplied.

For wrong items, shortages or delivery damage, contact BMG directly; you do not need to begin with a manufacturer warranty case.

Speak to someone who knows the order

Sometimes the useful answer depends on a detail that is specific to your purchase. Send us the reference and the question, and we can pick up the conversation from there.
