Utility-Scale Solutions

Make the commitments in the right order.

At utility scale, an equipment decision can shape much more than the purchase. A module choice affects the layout. A factory allocation brings a deposit into the programme. An order placed while construction dates are still moving can leave substantial capital waiting in a warehouse.

BMG Solar helps developers, EPCs and utilities bring those decisions into sequence. We supply solar and storage equipment with a procurement plan built around the project’s approvals, construction phases and commercial commitments.

Bring the next stage within reach

Some projects arrive with a permitted site and an appointed EPC contractor. Others still need the people and evidence that will turn an opportunity into a buildable proposition.

We bring development, engineering, finance and construction partners into the work at the appropriate stage. That can include feasibility assessment, technical input for approvals and grid connection, funding discussions, an EPC delivery route and support through commissioning into operation.

The supply strategy develops alongside that work. A grid constraint, a financing condition or a change in construction method can reshape the equipment requirement. BMG connects those decisions with the manufacturers, commercial commitments and transport arrangements needed to deliver it.

Start with the dates that change the decision

Some dates are targets. Others trigger expenditure, release a payment or determine whether a particular supply route remains possible. Understanding the difference helps a purchasing team act at the right moment.

We work backwards from the installation programme to identify the decisions that need attention: confirming the equipment schedule, securing production or stock, completing technical review and arranging each release. Alongside those dates, we establish how long an offer remains valid and what is required to turn availability into a confirmed allocation.

That gives your team something useful to take into a project meeting: a view of what can still move, what is already committed and which decision comes next.

Build the supply package around the site

Custom solar mounting gives the site's conditions a direct place in procurement. Terrain, ground investigations, structural loads, corrosion exposure and the installation method shape the system that needs to be manufactured.

We bring mounting manufacturers and specialist engineers together around that brief. They develop foundation options, material specifications, structural calculations and fabrication drawings for the project's technical approval. Once agreed, the design becomes a production and delivery package: components identified by installation area, fixings accounted for and releases sequenced with the construction work.

The same attention extends across the electrical package. Modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cabling and monitoring each have a place in the approved design. Storage introduces further decisions around power conversion, controls and integration. We work with the engineering team to define the supply boundaries and coordinate manufacturers around them.

A transformer with a long production lead time can govern the programme as decisively as the module allocation. We bring those dependencies into the purchasing plan while there is still time to act on them.

Give scale a commercial purpose

We support multi-megawatt developments and equipment programmes extending to hundreds of shipping containers. That scale creates opportunities to negotiate directly with manufacturers, secure production allocations and coordinate demand across project phases, with terms that reflect the whole requirement.

We explore those opportunities while preserving a practical delivery sequence. A programme can be negotiated as a whole and released in stages, with the payment obligations for each stage expressly agreed. Your team can see the value of the total commitment alongside the cash and receiving capacity it requires.

As the programme changes, we revisit the decisions affected and work through the options with the supply partners involved. The procurement plan remains a working part of the project.
